Challenge

Azuratec was asked to provide stormwater detention for two townhouses with negligible fall to the point of discharge at the street. The land was flat and access to the site was limited by mounded dirt. The coastal substrate was not suitable for deep excavation and the customer required a compact and shallow solution to a fixed timeline.

Response

Two StormTank 2000lt systems were specified and drawings were prepared for the necessary council approval. A very shallow excavation was made with a back hoe and the site was levelled simply by hand. Azuratec delivered and installed the systems in the morning nominated by the customer and a concrete blinding was poured for the driveway over the tanks after midday.

Outcome

The townhouses are now occupied and the tank inspection ports are accessible through the driveway with grated inlet and outlet pits either side. The solution is discreet for the home owner, cost effective for the builder and allowed the building project to continue without delay.
