SlabTank
Frequently Asked Questions
Are they suitable for raft slabs?
- Yes, they can be used in a conventional raft slab and Azuratec can show you how and assist with the engineering for your permit.
Will the council approve their use and issue a permit?
- Councils will approve the use of SlabTanks if they have been considered and included in the engineering calculations required to get a permit ... no problem.
Are there rebates for rainwater tank installations?
- Rebates for the installation of rainwater tanks differ from council to council and state to state. Azuratec can advise you on any rebates you may be entitled to when quoting.
Can I stand and walk on the top of SlabTanks?
- Yes you can ... they're stronger than a typical foam waffle pod.
What if I need help or have urgent questions?
- You can speak directly to our technical staff on 1300 766 318.
In the Building Code of Australia, what class soil types are they suitable for?
- SlabTanks are suitable where ever waffle slabs are suitable which includes most types of building construction on Classes A, S, M, M-D, H and H-D.
Do SlabTanks meet the 5-Star and BASIX requirements?
- Including SlabTanks into your next housing project is a large contributor to completing your 5-Star or BASIX rating checklist.
Why does each tank have an access port on the top?
- Peace of mind really ... with adequate screening on the rainwater inlet (included
as standard), sediment build-up in SlabTanks will be negligible, but the access
ports on selected tanks allow cleaning of the tank and inspection of the pipes
and seals should it be necessary. Access ports are covered by durable steel
covers which are fixed to the floor and removed with a screw driver.
What if the slab moves or cracks over time?
- Slab movement is common due to shrinkage while hardening (over 30 years!), due to heat expansion or contraction and due to ground movement ... SlabTanks can cope with typical movement because both the tanks and connections are flexible.
